Activities Consulting

How to make something from nothing

"Work smarter, not harder" and "duck right when everyone else is going left" are two phrases you'll hear me say regarding student extracurricular activities. We can help you spend time on high-value, high-impact activities—and teach you how to nix the ones that don't matter as much.

Here are some success stories from our current and recent students who worked with us for activities consulting.

Coding for Small Businesses

One of our students, an aspiring Computer Science major, brainstormed with us to come up with a unique project. He rebuilt websites for small businesses affected by Covid. He was so successful that he was interviewed and featured on NBC Boston!

The Next Jay-Z?

Music can become something that isn't just a hobby, but a career path. Working with us, one of our students pursued studio time for his rap music as an activity, made a professional website portfolio, and secured himself a spot at a prestigious New England music conservatory.

Boston Backpack Project

This student was so passionate about the environment and reducing waste. Brett set the student up with the Boston Backpack Project through one of her connections, where the student donated four figures of plastic cutlery sets for the unhoused, also keeping the sets out of the landfill.

Drowning Prevention

To spread awareness about drowning prevention, one of our students worked with us to cultivate an independent project by partnering with the Red Cross, becoming a WHALES Tales instructor, and educating area students about water safety.

Food Drive

Inspired by her work in the area food kitchens, this student worked with us to set up her own food drive—completely her own, run by her, to provide donations to the underserved. She titled it her "Drive for Hope," and it was a feature on her college application.

Biomedical Internship

Fascinated by all things biomedical, one of our past students desired real, hands-on experience in high school. Brett worked within her network to connect the student with a contact, resulting in a formal biomedical engineering internship. That student is now at Virginia Tech!
